Prices and specs from each brand’s official page, checked Oct 2026; sale prices change often. Night sweats, loud snoring, gasping or insomnia lasting months can have medical causes; talk to a doctor.
Temperature: your core body temperature drops as you fall asleep, and a bed that is too warm makes that harder. Active systems pump water (Eight Sleep, Sleepme Chilipad) or blow air (BedJet) to cool or warm the bed; dual-zone setups let each partner pick their own side.
Weighted blankets: a randomized controlled trial in adults with insomnia and psychiatric disorders found weighted chain blankets reduced insomnia severity versus a light control blanket (Ekholm et al., J Clin Sleep Med 2020). Evidence in other groups is limited. Not for infants or young children, and check with a doctor if you have breathing, circulation or mobility problems.
Noise and light: steady sound masks sudden noises; a blackout mask blocks light that can wake you early or disrupt sleep during the day for shift workers.
